Now Open...

The Calvert Well Pet Clinic will be the first discount spay/neuter and wellness clinic for dogs and cats in Calvet County. When you drive by our historical 1936 farmhouse on Rt 2/4 just south of Plum Point Road in Huntingtown, you will see our progress on the property. The rotted porch has been replaced and the new handicapped ramp was an Eagle Scout project. Many volunteer gardeners have seeded lawn, pruned trees and shrubs, and planted many trees, shrubs and bulbs. Volunteers have also also been busy on the interior of the clinic, cleaning, painting, repairing, and equiping. The new highway entrance and handicapped parking will be installed soon.

Who are we?

The Calvert Well Pet Clinic is owned and operated by the Patuxent Animal Welfare Society., Inc. (PAWS). PAWS, a 501(C)3 charity, was founded in 1996 for the purpose of humane education, pet rescue and adoption of healthy, social pet to suitable families.

We have fulfilled our goals by bringing educational programs to schools, community groups, and community events; rescued dogs and cats that were strays, owner give-ups, and from the shelters; and completely vetted the pets, including spaying and neutering and microchipping, and found them furever homes.

All of our work is done using foster homes and volunteers.
